General Information:

Print Resources: 

  • The library has a local print collection of around 14,000 items. Due dates vary, but faculty may borrow some materials for up to the entire academic term. Please email the library at libhelp@egcc.edu for your library barcode. 
  • As a member of OhioLINK, faculty may borrow materials from other OhioLINK institutions (loan terms vary depending on material type). 
  • Materials may be shipped to any participating OhioLINK pick-up anywhere location*.  
    • *Physical library materials are only available within the state of Ohio. 

Recommending Resources

  • All library users may recommend resources. Priority is given to resources that directly support our programs and students. Please use our resource recommendation form or contact our Library Director to make a recommendation. 

Print Reserves

  • Please contact our library staff for information about placing an item on reserve in the Library or Information Commons.

Electronic Resources:

  • Browse our collection of databases using our A-Z list
  • Search our collection of subject and course research guides on our LibGuides page
  • Check for full-text access to journals, eBooks, videos, newspapers and more using the publications tab of our Gateway Search or by visiting our Publication Finder
  • Browse available library tutorial videos on our YouTube channel.

    • Access to selected Films for Humanities & Sciences from the former DRC continues through March 2024
  • JoVE Core Science Videos + Lab Manuals
    • Access ended December 31, 2022
  • MIT Press Direct (e-book collection through 2021)
    • Perpetual access to all content already purchased through the end of 2021
    • 2022 front list will be published Open Access
  • Sage Complete 2020 Business Cases Collection
    • Perpetual access to all content already purchased (all cases published through 2020)
    • New as an opt-in for 2022; only libraries that opt in will have access to current content - Please contact the Library Director with interest or questions.
  • Wiley Cochrane Library
    • GEER-funded access ended December 31, 2021
    • Will return to being an opt-in resource; only libraries that opted in will have access starting January 1, 2022 - Please contact the Library Director with interest or questions.
  • Data Planet Foundations (a.k.a. Sage Stats)

    • No new data sets will be purchased after 2021
    • Perpetual access to data already purchased for 2017-2021 at the Data Planet site

Open Education Resources (OER)

Library Workshops for Students

Faculty, are your students intimidated by Research, APA or MLA? If so, please encourage them to attend one of our library workshops. 

Important OhioLINK Dates

Important End of Access Dates for GEER Funded OhioLINK resources:
  • Elsevier evidence-based selection (EBS) ebooks:  Access to the large pool of Elsevier ebooks is set to end on December 23, 2023 (extended from November 30th).  A project team of librarians has reviewed the content and usage and we will have a list of purchased ebooks (with perpetual access) to announce soon.
  • De Gruyter University Press ebooks:  OhioLINK had one year of access to leased backfile ebook collections (including 2000-2013 and some 2022 publication years) from eight university presses.  This access will end December 31, 2023.  OhioLINK had also purchased the 2023 ebook frontlist from six publishers – to be clear, these purchased frontlist collections will continue with perpetual access.
