2022 - 2023 Notable Highlights

  • The Library received a $40,000 grant for Collection Development from PNC Charitable Trust John C. Williams Trust
  • The Library's project to update the ILS webpac to more modern and accessible interface is completed. 
  • The Library Staff initiated a bibliographic records improvement project in preparation for the OhioLINK ILS migration. 
  • The Library installed a new Sentry Custom Security WAM Gate and Patron Counter System. 
  • The Library Staff planned and hosted a 2022 Fall Library Week consisting of 14 Library workshops over four days for new and returning students. 
  • The Library Staff rearranged the Information Commons layout to accommodate study seating and additional collection shelving. 
  • The Library formalized Community Borrower Accounts for residents within the College's service districts. 
  • The Library formalized Alumni Library Access and created a page detailing resources available to Alumni. 
  • The Library Staff hosted a table at the EGCC GradFest to promote new Library Resources for Alumni. 
  • Fiscal Year 2023 print circulation and interlibrary loan activity rebound. Both services reach levels not experienced since 2017 and 2018 respectively. This increase in circulation activity correlates directly with the library's Collection Development activity.

  • OhioLINK initiates the RFP process for a new Consortia Integrated Library System. Libraries begin migration preparations. 
  • ChatGPT and other AI tools focus attention on student plagiarism and the need for academic integrity resources.
